The Redhill Academy believes that every student should have high quality, independent careers guidance to encourage them to be aspirational and well informed when making educational and career decisions. Our Careers Programme contains a wide range of activities to help develop curiosity and confidence in our students, allowing them to work towards a positive and fulfilling career.

The Redhill Academy believes that students should have access to information and advice about all available pathways.

Our Careers Programme aligns with The Gatsby Benchmarks and the new CDI Framework, which helps us ensure good practice and meet the Department for Education’s statutory guidance.

Teaching Staff

Our teaching staff have access to a wide variety of careers resources that help them embed relevant links into the curriculum. An example of such an initiative includes the ‘My Learning My Future’ resources created by the Careers & Enterprise Company (click here to view).

Local Providers

We ask local providers to refer to our Provider Access Policy when seeking to develop meaningful interactions with our students.

Monitoring of the activities and the guidance taking place will include observations by SLT and feedback from students and those engaged in activities (e.g. parents, colleges, and employers).  Outcomes will be reported to Governors on an annual basis.

The impact will be measured by:

  1. Attainment and destination of students – closing the gap between young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and others
  2. NEET figures
  3. Questionnaires – trend analysis
  4. Student evaluation forms

All Redhill Academy students have access to the online careers platform ‘Unifrog’ which provides them with careers and subject libraries, know-how guides and the facility to record careers interactions and applications. Find out more about it here. Students are also able to reset their passwords by sending a link to their school email (click here to access this).

Redhill Academy also has a Careers Twitter feed @rhafutures which tweets and re-tweets relevant information and advice for students and parents.
