It is with great sadness that I contact you to let you know that Julie Hudson, teacher of English and Lawrence House tutor, passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer. Julie was a wonderfully warm and generous person, as well as a remarkable and popular teacher with her students. I am sure this will come as a shock to all.
The service for Julie will be held on Monday 18th January and as a mark of respect there will be no live lessons on this day. Instead staff will set a piece of work for students to complete. Hopefully this will allow teachers, students and parents time to pay their respects properly.
Julie didn’t want flowers but instead requested that donations be made to one of these charities:
- Arnold Food Bank – https://www.justgiving.com/arnoldfoodbanknotts
- Haywood House – https://www.nottinghamhospitalscharity.org.uk/donate/
- UNICEF – https://www.unicef.org.uk/donate/
There will be a book of condolence from the school that we will send to Julie’s family after the service; if any student or parent wanted anything adding to this, please feel free to send this to firstname.lastname@example.org.
I wanted to let everyone in the Redhill community know as soon as possible. Our thoughts are very much with her family.
Mr M Hardy
