At The Redhill Academy we have four principles that guide everything we do:

  • High expectations of all students
  • Valuing and celebrating academic achievement
  • Outstanding teaching for all students
  • Widening students’ experiences through a range of extra-curricular activities including sports and the performing arts

Redhill was the first secondary school in Nottinghamshire to gain an “outstanding” Ofsted rating for the quality of teaching, and is now the only one to achieve this twice in succession.

At our most recent inspection (2013), Ofsted judged that “teaching is outstanding” and that “during the inspection … the teaching observed was consistently effective in capturing students’ interest and engagement”.  Our students were praised as behaving ”extremely well in lessons and around the academy site” and for being “calm, considerate and courteous at all times”.  The inspectors also found that “students are proud of their academy”, which to me is probably the sentence in the report that says most about what we try and do here at Redhill.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - Postponement of Annual Presentation Evening, Thursday 8 January 2015
by School Office (L Clark) - Monday, 5 January 2015, 12:02 PM

I am sure that many of you will have heard by now the very sad news about the death of Melissa Ellis last week. Melissa was a much loved, excellent student here at Redhill who had gone on to study Languages at Birmingham University.

In light of this terribly sad news, and as a respect to her and her family, we have decided to postpone this year's Annual Presentation Evening. This event will now take place on Wednesday 1 April 2015. In the meanwhile, our thoughts are with Melissa's family at this very difficult time.
